Pay It Forward on Your Yacht Charter

Friday, June 17, 2011 by Good Times SailAway
What kind of random acts of kindness can be done while you are on your private luxury yacht charter?

Going ashore?
  • Perform an "Operation Beautiful," where you write a message of love and beauty to someone on a post-it note and put it in a public place (or on the back of a diet book, for example).

Pay it Forward and do Random Acts of Kindness through operationbeautiful.com notes to others

  • Give a sincere (and unsolicited) compliment to a stranger.
  • Buy a meal or cup of soup for someone who is begging or is in need.

  • Is it mid-December?  Go into the local post office and pick up a "letter to Santa." Buy or send gift(s) to the writer and have them delivered for Christmas!

Pay it Forward with a Random Act of Kindness - pick up letter to Santa at post office and send gifts

  • Walking with your kids?  Have a race to see who can pick up the most litter.

  • Leave your change in the soda machine as a surprise for the next person.

  • Drop coins in a garden. The next time it is weeded, someone will find a nice surprise.

Random Acts of Kindess - while sightseeing on your florida yacht charters, drop coins in a garden for person weeding to find

  • Have especially good service (or friendly staff, etc) somewhere you've been? When you get home from your Bahama yacht charter or Virgin Islands yacht charter, write a letter to management commending the establishment or the person(s), by name.

  • Stopping in a cafe or coffee shop?  Buy a cup of coffee for the person behind you. They'll be so shocked and surprised when they get to the register!

  • Want to spread the word about "Pay It Forward?" Go to the Pay It Forward website and order bracelets. Take them on your Feadship yacht charter, and as you practice Random Acts of Kindness, give a bracelet to the recipient who thanks you, so that they, too, will Pay It Forward!

Why use a Pro Travel Agent to book a yacht charter?

Tuesday, June 14, 2011 by News SailAway
The internet has made booking air fare and yacht charter vacations so simple that using travel agents to reserve anything trip-related seems pointless.  NOT SO!  Travel agents are very valuable to booking accurate travel, getting the best deals, and making sure that everything is "smooth sailing" and perfect for your trip.

You have questions.  We have answers!

Isn't it more expensive to use a travel agent than to book travel myself?
Not necessarily.  Travel agents are paid commissions from the vendors of each travel segment (i.e., flight, yacht charter, bareboat vacation, trip cancellation insurance, etc), so there is no additional charge to you for their personal attention to your trip planning.

Don't some travel agents "mark up" the prices?
Yes, some charge a small fee for making arrangements for you (since some travel vendors, like airlines, have all but eliminated commissions for agents), but their personalized services to you are invaluable.  They know of and find great deals for you (they receive updated specials daily -- specials that are not updated to travel websites), and they know the answers to many questions that you have about plane configurations, how to request particular room or location amenities, and how to make the vacation exactly the one that you wanted.  They know details about each trip segment that you might not know, and they remove all guesswork from your trip planning and scheduling.

Pro Travel Network and SailAway Yacht Charters customize your yacht charter vacation

My friends always use travel agents for trips. Is Pro Travel a good travel agency to use?

Absolutely!  The Pro Travel Network is one of the largest travel agencies in North America, with full-service offices in the United States, Canada, and Australia.  They provide services about every aspect of travel (from travel insurance to car service to renting private yachts for your motor yacht charter or sailing vacation).

The bottom line to using a professional Pro Travel Agent:  WHAT IS YOUR TIME WORTH?

Our Favorite Three Islands On Earth

Monday, June 13, 2011 by Good Times SailAway
Caye Caulker, Belize - a favorite Caribbean island

As mega yacht charter vessels get larger and larger, the yachts, themselves, have become the "destination" for charter guests. Onboard amenities from home theaters, spas, and helicopters, to personal submarines, coupled with a "boat-load" of watertoys means guests rarely feel the need to leave the safe, comfy, pampered confines of their floating resort.

According to Jana Sheeder, President of SailAway Yacht Charters, that is not necessarily a good thing.  "Sometimes we have to remind our clients and ourselves why we first fell in love with yachting," says Sheeder.  "Initially, you rent a private yacht to escape in comfort and privacy, then  you want to explore a remote area or an island and immerse yourself in its culture."

Sheeder laments some modern travelers are missing the wonders of exploration by spending too much time onboard their yachts.  "So much beauty awaits ashore, in terms of people, nature, and culture."

In the spirit of recapturing that sense of wonder and adventure, our intrepid team in our charter department has picked their top three island destinations.  Certainly, there are bigger, more famous islands, but for white sand beaches, salty breezes, freshly caught seafood, and no crowds, head to one of these 3 "World’s Best" secret islands:

SKOPELOS, Greece -
Mention Greece yacht charters and everyone will tell you the islands of Mycanos and Santorini are a "must." Yes, they are beautiful, but where did Hollywood scouts end up when they sought a location to shoot the movie, Mamma Mia?  It was not Myconos or Santorini - it was Skopelos!  This secret little island is just a short distance from tourist-crazed Skiathos.  As you anchor in a hidden cove and arrive by tender on Kastani beach, you’ll be wowed by the view of the shimmering Aegean Sea, the island’s tile-roofed tavernas, and the noticeable absence of tourists.

After dinner, take a stroll to the open-air Mercurius Bar & Café (Skopelos Town; 30-24240/24593), or up to the hillside Ouzeri Anatoli, for live rebetika music. This is
Greece and Greek yachting at its best - Opa!

CAYE CAULKER, Belize -
If you're looking for a change of pace from the traditional Virgin Islands yacht charter, head to Caye Caulker in Belize.  Shallow waters make crewed catamaran charters the popular choice for yachting.  Anchor in Shark Ray Alley and snorkel among nurse sharks and stingrays or go scuba diving at the underwater caves of Blue Hole. Back onshore, the curried lobster at the roadside Jolly Roger’s Grill is "to die for."  Speaking of lobster, try to visit during the
annual Lobster Festival  (July 1–3), when the main road turns into a lively street party.

SAMPSON CAY and the EXUMA CAYS, Bahamas -
Avid sailors like actor and yacht owner
Johnny Depp
know all memorable Bahamas yacht charters should pass through the Exumas and Sampson Cay.  Here, sailors have access to thriving patch reefs, isolated islets, and miles of secluded white sand.  The snorkeling is amazing, especially in the country's only underwater national park, and we can't think of a better place on earth to get a tan.

Making a Splash - Hottest New Swimsuits for Summer 2011

Thursday, May 26, 2011 by Good Times SailAway
Yacht charter swimsuit fashions appear on runways worldwide

The summer Mediterranean yacht charter season is just around the corner, and we all have our hearts set on warm weather and sunny beaches.  Whether you're planning a bareboat charter or a crewed catamaran charter, the swimsuit hunt has begun, and it's time to check out the fashion runways for some stylish inspiration.

Let's take a look at the hottest swimwear trends of the season. All photos by Imax Tree.

Swimsuits adorn runways in preparation to yacht charter vacations
Sexy Cut Outs:  The cut outs we often see on cocktail dresses and evening gowns have found their way into this season's swimwear. Roksanda Ilincic
went for a dramatic look with a black strapless piece while Emanuel Ungaro took a feminine approach to the cut out style with a floral one-piece. Emilio Pucci joined the revealing trend with a graphic print suit.

Gold shimmering swimsuits on the runway for yacht charter vacations
Go for the Gold: Not a fan of vibrant colors?  You can still shine with the nude and gold trend of the season.  Elie Tahari created a shimmering brocade one-piece corset, along with a gold lamé bikini. Salvatore Ferragamo debuted a classic nude bikini with suede overcoat for a subtle but chic look.

Retro chic swimsuits are in style for mega yacht charters
Retro Chic:  Picture a lovely lady, circa 1968, lounging on the deck of a Monaco Grand Prix yacht, or Jackie Onassis and her friends lounging onboard the famous motor yacht Christina O.  Those images set the tone for the latest in retro swimsuits. High waists, balconette tops, and gingham highlight the 50's and 60's trend that has touched the swimwear scene.

Moschino's
black and white bustier bikini with high-waisted bottoms exemplified the throwback look. Elie Taharai created a textured top with matching hot shorts, while Rochas went with an exaggerated design to highlight feminine style.

3 Simple Ways to Enjoy Greener Sail Boat Charters

Tuesday, May 3, 2011 by Good Times SailAway
Green travel habits to reduce carbon footprint and live green

Much attention has been focused on the efforts of the superyacht industry to embrace sustainability and green building practices.  But what about the travelers - the people who rent, for example, a private yacht for a Virgin Islands yacht charter holiday?

How can they contribute to furthering the cause of green, eco-friendly vacations?

It's not hard, and taking a "green approach" to vacations goes hand-in-hand with being a responsible traveler. With a little effort, charter passengers can help reduce the negative environmental impact on the places they visit.

Green travel begins with the understanding and respect for the cruising destination's culture and an effort to bring benefit the local economy.

Here's the best part - you donot have to pay more to go green!   Let's look at three simple ways to travel greener on your next sailing vacation:

1.  Save Energy
a)  Re-use towels and linens during your charter.  The crews on most yachts constantly scramble to change and clean towels and linens throughout a week-long charter.  After all, they are dedicated to the highest level of customer service.  Simply tell your crew that you are willing to reuse your towels and bed linens more than once or twice during your stay.  It is estimated this simple act can save 5 percent on utilities!

Another simple way to travel greener is to b)  turn off the air conditioning and lights in your cabin when leaving the room

2.  Reduce Carbon Output
Consider planning a trip that will reduce carbon emissions. Sometimes it is as simple as considering the distance from the arrival airport to your awaiting yacht.  Ask your crew if there is a marina or sandy beach close to the airport.  If there is, you can save the cost of a taxi and the related carbon emissions of the vehicle.

For example, many people arriving for a charter in Tortola, BVI will first fly into St. Thomas, USVI, take a 30 minute taxi to the ferry docks, ride a ferry to Tortola, and take another taxi to a marina - where their yacht and crew await.  As a green alternative, you can fly to Beef Island airport in Tortola, adjacent to a large, sandy beach. Your crew can take a dinghy up to the beach to pick you up, and you can literally walk over from the airport!

3.  Support the Local Economy
You can easily travel greener by learning about the culture, food, and environment of the places you visit. Prior to your charter, ask your crew to cook using native cuisine versus foods and goods that need to be shipped in.  When going ashore to shop and sightsee, buy souvenirs and handmade crafts that benefit the local community over imported goods. Do not purchase souvenirs made from local endangered animals or plants.

To be green on your yacht charter, be sure to support the local economy

Remember, responsible travel habits will reduce the negative environmental impact on the places you visit long after you and your sailing companions have returned home.

The Three Best Celebrity Owned Mega Yacht Charter Vessels

Monday, May 2, 2011 by Good Times SailAway
Steven Spielberg and his yacht, SEVEN SEAS

Whether as an effort to diversify investments, ego or challenge – many international celebrities have spent millions of dollars for the opportunity to own a superyacht.  Unlike athletes who splash their names on a restaurant and cover the walls in memorabilia as a shrine to their athletic glory, celebrity yacht owners rarely view their vessels as a tool for self-promotion.
Instead, these yachts serve as a private oasis, a retreat from the constant pressures of the high-profile world of business and entertainment.

American Idol and X Factor's Simon Cowell and his charter yacht, SLIPSTREAM

When not in use by their owners or families, many of these yachts are available for hire as luxury mega yacht charter vessels.

While a celebrity's name might pique your interest in considering his or her yacht, it's the onboard amenities, professional crew, and overall design of the vessel that ultimately lead a client to rent a specific private yacht.

Still, for many people (especially the charterer's children), it's fun to say, "We just spent a week on P. Diddy's private yacht!"

To that end, we've compiled a list of our three favorite celebrity-owned yachts for hire:

1. VAJOLIROJA

Johnny Depp and his yacht, VAJOLIROJA

Sailing the high seas as the lead character in the blockbuster Pirates of the Caribbean movie franchise might explain why actor Johnny Depp has a passion for fine yachts.

Motor yacht VaJoLiRoJa — the boat’s clever name comes from combining the first
few letters of each family member’s name, partner Vanessa Paradis, Johnny, and their kids, Lily-Rose and Jack — is a 156'  Mediterranean yacht charter vessel of distinctive character, inspired by the classic gentleman’s yachts of the 1930’s.

The lavishly-styled interior evokes the romance and glamour of a bygone era (with a few pirate-themed hints throughout). Available for hire in the Mediterranean for € 98,000 per week in July and August, and € 84,000 per week the other months
.

2. VA BENE
According to the story, legendary rock star Eric Clapton ("Layla," "Tears in Heaven," "Cocaine") chartered motor yacht Va Bene in 2005 and loved the yacht so much, he purchased it from then owner, F1 motor racing CEO Bernie Ecclestone. The 157 ft (47.8m) yacht can accommodate 12 guests in six separate sleeping cabins and has a crew complement of 13 when under charter.

The yacht's interior is best described as calm and informal, with neutral tones in the décor and an Art Deco theme running through the main guest areas. Clapton, a collector of modern art, has filled the yacht with paintings, sculptures, and ceramic vases.

Motor Yacht Va Bene is available for Caribbean yacht charter hire in the winter and spring at a rate of  $189,000 per week.  In the summer, the yacht is based in the Mediterranean and is priced at $210,000 per week in July and August, and $189,000 per week all other months.

3.  SEVEN SEAS

Steven Spielberg and his yacht, SEVEN SEAS

After her launch in 2010, speculation swirled around Steven Spielberg's motor yacht SEVEN SEAS as to whether or not she would enter the charter market.  At first - she did.  Recently, however, Spielberg withdrew the yacht from charter for extended personal use.  Hopeful that the superyacht will one day return to charter, we have selected her for our list of the best celebrity-owned (charter) yachts.

At 86 meters in length, her size, shape, and style ensure that motor yacht Seven Seas is one of the most impressive yachts in the world.  Built by Oceanco, the megayacht features an infinity swimming pool on her aft deck which can conveniently be transformed into a full helipad or used as a screen for viewing movies while on deck or in the pool.

Let's keep our fingers crossed that we will soon see the return of Seven Seas to the rental marketplace!

How to Prepare Your Kids for a Yachting Vacation

Saturday, April 9, 2011 by Good Times SailAway
Calming concerns about taking children on yacht charter vacations

Like most parents, you've probably been hesitant to take a family yachting vacation with the kids in tow.  Will my kids get seasick? What if they get bored? Is it safe to have a child on a yacht?

Fear no more. It's time to plan that Florida yacht charter vacation you've been dreaming about.

Our charter specialists will help you take on your two biggest worries, and show you a one-month countdown plan that'll make any pre-charter anxiety go away:

Fear #1:  My kid will puke while we're cruising.
Solution - If you're planning a luxury sailing charter, consider a catamaran (also known as a multihull).  Catamarans are much wider than traditional sailboats, don't heel (tip) to their sides and are more stable, especially at anchor.

Catamaran multihull overview

Whether you hire a sailboat or motoryacht, most charters (unlike large cruiseships) take place in calm waters close to shore, and anchor in protected coves and bays.

Also remember - Dramamine is safe for most kids (but check with your doctor), and if your child is prone to motion sickness, pack some plastic bags and wet-wipes.

Fear #2:  My child will get bored on a boat.
Solution - Ask the skipper to limit the amount of time cruising, and instead, focus on discovering anchorages where the children can swim, snorkel, and go ashore to explore.

Most yachts carry extensive recreational and watersports toys, including kayaks, rafts, wakeboards, trampolines, etc.  For onboard activity, many yachts now offer Wii and PlayStation games, in addition to large selections of movies, music, and beach games for use onshore.

One Month Countdown:

It doesn't matter if you are planning a self-drive bareboat yacht charter, or a London Olympics yacht charter.  When you rent a private yacht for a family holiday, include your children in the planning process.

During the month prior to your vacation, show them pictures of your yacht and the places you are visiting by boat. At bedtime, read them books about traveling.  Tell them about the onboard watertoys, and let them them help choose activities.

On the day before departure, have your child(ren) pick one special toy or blanket that will be a comfort during the trip.

The more involved they are, the less anxiety they will feel.

Also plan to speak with your charter broker as well as the yacht's skipper, and the head stewardess.  Ask them about kid-friendly amenities.

Some possible questions:

• Will the chef prepare special meals for the children?
• Does the yacht have kid-specific games or movies?
• Do the yacht have a crib?
• Can they crew arrange activities for kids, such as a
movie night, onshore picnics and treasure hunts, etc.?

Most crews have plenty of experience with family-oriented charters.  They will work closely with parents to organize activities that are fun for the entire family.

A note of importance - do NOT expect the crew members to be babysitters.  Their primary focus is the safe operation of the yacht and the comfort of the guests.

Do Airport Body Scanners Pose a Risk to Travelers?

Wednesday, March 16, 2011 by Good Times SailAway
Do airport scanners pose a risk to travelers?

You've been looking forward to this day for months.  You're at the airport, ready to board a flight that will take you to your rented yacht, to begin your Virgin Islands yacht charter vacation.

As you pass through the new X-ray full body scanner, should you be concerned about the radiation and what this exposure could mean for you?

Some researchers say yes.

We are very concerned about that being imposed on travelers,” says Dr. Robert Stroud, a  professor of biophysics at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF).  In a letter sent to the White House, Stroud and his researchers shared their concerns.  “I don’t think we do know what risk we are taking. X-rays are intrinsically ionizing radiation. They damage human tissue,” says Stroud.

For many months, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and the federal government have been assuring the public that passing through the body scanner is safe. A TSA spokesperson even stated, “We consider it a miniscule amount of radiation.”

But the scientists at UCSF aren't so sure and believe it’s time for outside scientists to take a closer look.

I do think it is time for an independent investigation that really allows people to understand what the risk is that they take going through the scanner,” says Stroud.

Jana Sheeder, President of SailAway Yacht Charters, reminds her clients that they do have an option.  "If you have a concern about the exposure to x-rays coming from the body scanner, simply opt for the pat down," says Sheeder.  "When your on your way to enjoy a luxury sailing charter in the islands, the last thing you need is more travel-related stress!"

Antigua offers sailors and yachtsmen endless variety.

Antigua - Shirley Heights overlooking Nelson's Dockyard

Often overlooked by travelers considering a Caribbean yacht charter, Antigua is nothing short of a boater's tropical paradise.  Its south and west coasts are cruising treasures, and the island has more scenic and sheltered anchorages than most Caribbean destinations.

The island's English Harbour first served as a British naval base in the 1600's. The base and its nearby forts protected  Antigua’s lucrative sugarcane production.

Sailing into English Harbour is truly  memorable. The stone buildings of Fort Berkely to port and Shirley Heights high above to starboard are a dramatic sight. Sailboats and mega yacht charter vessels fill the harbour, and Sunsail operates a sailing bareboat charter base here. Cruising past the superyachts in the Harbour is breathtaking.

Once you have anchored or docked in the marina, Nelson’s Dockyard, is well worth a stroll. It looks much as it did centuries ago, with working capstans and lovingly restored buildings.  Restaurants, hotels, boutiques and a museum keep the area lively.

If you are fortunate to visit the island on a Sunday, an afternoon barbecue atop Shirley Heights with its spectacular sunset over English Harbour should not be missed.

From English Harbour, many yachts cruise along the southwest coast to Cades Reef, a beautiful spot for snorkeling.  Further along the coastline is Boggy Peak, the highest peak on the island.

Moving up the west coast, is Jolly Harbor.  It offers a brand new marina and is surrounded by resort hotels with pools and restaurants.  Helicopters tours can be arranged to fly from Jolly Harbor to the island of Montserrat, to see the remains of a volcano that recently devasted that island.

If you like beaches, Antigua’s shoreline is one white sandy beach after another.  Deep Bay at Hawks Bill (near a rock that resembles a hawk’s head) is another great spot for an al fresco lunch and a swim.  Divers can explore a nearby shipwreck, the Andes.  For onshore activity, you can visit nearby Fort Barrington, and the Grand Royal Antiguan Beach Resort.

Shoppers can spend time in St. John’s - the island's capital city. The Heritage Quay area has trendy designer shops, while the nearby Redcliffe Quay is more traditional with inviting shady patios nestled amongst restored buildings.

A walking tour of the city should include seeing St. John’s Cathedral and the Museum of Antigua and Barbuda.

Renting a taxi is a good way to explore the island's interior.  You can visit a real sugar mill at Betty’s Hope, or take a ride along Fig Tree Drive, where you can see the round stone towers of centuries-old abandoned sugar mills.

Ahh...Spring - that uplifting, transitional season between winter and summer. In the midst of record cold weather here in the United States, it's easy to daydream about "springtime" and her promise of rebirth and renewal.

Among the many annual traditions that are renewed each springtime is the top international special event that is best appreciated from the deck of a Mediterranean yacht charter vessel - namely, the Cannes Film Festival 2011.

Like the Swallows that return faithfully to roost at San Juan Capistrano's Mission, the Glitterati, and the paparazzo who follow them, descend upon the Côte d'Azur to renew a decades-long love affair with fine films and famous actors.

Playing host to the many celebrities and VIP's who make their way to the South of France for this special event are some of the world's newest and largest yachts.  Here, where privacy from tourists and onlookers is hard to come by, luxurious superyachts offer discreet accommodations and a secure venue for parties and business meetings.

The 2011 Cannes Film Festival takes place May 11 to 22.  Billed as a celebration of cinema, film producers and actors from around the world come to Cannes, France to screen their latest projects and look for buyers and investors.

Demand to rent a private yacht for a
Cannes Film Festival 2011 yacht charter is brisk, as the main exhibition hall is directly adjacent to a large marina.

Cannes Film Festival yachtsHere, on the deck of a superyacht, film studios can host lavish parties where movie stars and producers can mingle.  For more discreet meetings, movie executives and investors can meet in the comfort of a yacht's sky lounge to negotiate film projects.

Charter Yachts Steal the Stage at Design Awards Show

Luxury Yacht Charter Vessels Win Superyacht Design Awards

The clean, simple, chiseled elegance of CMN Yacht CLOUD 9 wasn't the only luxury yacht charter vessel to catch the attention of the judges at the recent ShowBoats Design Awards.

Of the 10 winning private yacht entries, 6 are currently available for either Caribbean or Mediterranean yacht charter.  The caliber of the newest and largest yachts in the rental marketplace continues to improve year after year, as owners push the design envelope to new heights.  Sponsored by ShowBoats International, the inaugural awards ceremony took place in October at the exclusive Mar A Lago Club, Donald Trump’s private club in Palm Beach, Florida. Following a two-day Superyacht Design Symposium, 350 guests gathered for an evening of cocktails, a gala dinner and Awards ceremony honoring the industry’s creative talents: the architects, designers, stylists, craftsmen, and innovators in yacht technologies.

ShowBoats Design Awards evolved from design-focused awards previously a part of the Boat International Media World Superyacht Awards, and introduced a number of new categories. The jury compromised four superyacht owners (specifically chosen for their interest in design issues), plus two naval architects, a senior yacht captain, an experienced yacht chef, and six design professionals with no links to the industry. With more than 200 nominations, it was an incredibly tough task for the experienced panel.

Joining the 60-meter superyacht Cloud 9 on the winner's stage were:

HURRICANE RUN - Best Interior Design: Displacement Motor Yacht

SLIPSTREAM -  along with sistership CLOUD 9 - Best Exterior Design & Styling: Motor Yacht

Mega yacht HURRICANE RUN motor yacht charter

LIARA - Best Naval Architecture: Sailing Yacht

SYCARA IV - Best Naval Architecture: Motor Yacht

SALPERTON IV - Best Exterior Design & Styling: Sailing Yacht

UP next on the yacht award calendar is the 2011 World Superyacht Awards.  Hosted by the editors of Boat International Media, the awards honor the finest new vessels delivered to their owners in the past twelve months.

Considered the “Oscars” of the megayacht industry – the ceremony scheduled for May 7, 2011 will be attended by an elite guest list of  owners from around the globe and the most influential players in the business of boats.

62 finalists are in contention to receive a coveted Neptune Trophy, including the 56-meter Panthalassa and the 60-meter MARY JEAN II.

Glorious Greece - The Perfect Summer Cruising Destination

Tuesday, January 25, 2011 by Good Times SailAway

As a destination, Greece is a sensory celebration. It's a dance with history and ancient gods, and a courtship between natural beauty and modern luxuries. It's also an invitation to indulge in a slower pace and simpler pleasures, like savoring a taverna meal complemented by a fantastic local wine you've most likely never heard of.

Of course, the ideal way to explore the myriad of small Greek islands is to rent a private yacht.

For travelers with experience at the helm, a bareboat charter is the most affordable option for exploration.  Similar to renting a car, you do the "driving" by serving as your own skipper.  Yes, you and your travel companions must also do the cooking and cleaning, but when it comes to saving money, it is hard to top the appeal of a bareboat charter, especially sail boat charters as compared to power boats.

If you are not qualified to operate your own boat, or simply desire a hire level of comfort and amenities, some of the largest yachts in the world can be rented in the land of the Gods.

The famous yacht CHRISTINA O
calls Greece home.  The private vessel of the late Greek shipping tycoon, Aristotle Onassis, this yacht offers huge deck spaces and the indulgence of an original mosaic-tiled swimming pool. In addition to the Jacuzzi, there are three public lounges, a gym, and a game room - and the famous bar where Sir Winston Churchill first met Jackie Kennedy.

When to go to Greece?  Visit Greece between May and  October.  We prefer the so-called "shoulder season" (May and September/October), since the weather is generally good, and you'll enjoy more elbow room and often better prices in restaurants and gift shops.

When to book a yacht charter in Greece?   NOW is the time to make your 2011 Greece yacht charter reservations.
